FILIPINO SPECIMENS
EMI JORGE’S EXOTIC LUXE ACCESSORIES
AT FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK
During my last visit in Citem exhibit, I saw this eye catching collection of Emi Jorge, it was quite a quick glance and a quick look , and I told myself this must be expensive! So i asked her staff then they told me the Conquistador is $2,500.00 but it really catches my eye. but when i read about her story and how the bags were made , it was worth paying a good collection to keep. The name of the bags corresponds on how it looks like , just like how other designers do. So by just looking at the design of the bag , you ca ust guess how they call it. just like the "HARANA" , also the apple of the eye, its not apple shaped , but it will really be the apple of your eye when you see it.
Emi Jorge is a New York base designer but Filipino at heart and all her works. I'm looking forward to see her collection to be seen in the red carpets.
Emi Jorge debuts her eponymous brand with a set of 14 exquisitely handcrafted minaudieres.
Richly embellished, her clutches embody the natural exoticism of wood, shell, and semi-precious
stone, set to fresh interpretations of modern luxury.
Apple of the Eye, a nod to the endemic Tarsier species of the Philippines, features a wood veneer,
its fine grain revealed in the natural finish. A multi-faceted black lip shell clasp framed in goldtone
brass sets off the earth-tone palette, while the laser-etched ultra suede lining reveals the bag’s
origins.
The azure sea and its rainbow-hued corals conjure 7th Wonder, a wood trimmed minaudiere with
inlaid shell. Metal-casted coral detail adds texture to the iridescent surface, a tropical wonderland
for seafaring creatures.
The gifts of earth, water, sky, and culture inspire the other pieces in the Emi Jorge collection,
from Conquistador to Ling Ling-O and Ani, from Viva Pit Senyor to Symphony No. 9, each epitomizing
the beauty of natural forms and patinas, and the current bold global sensibilities in fashion.
